Remains of an ancient road unearthed

Excavations at the site of the ancient city of Tarsus in present day Mersin (Turkey) unearthed an ancient road, built with basalt blocks using the polygonal technique. Archaeologists from the Tarsus Museum discovered also a number of shops and terracotta jacking pipes in the section of the road.  The tracts is located near the historical Cleopatra Gate providing access to ancient Mersin.
