An untouched Bronze Age burial mound was discovered by a metal detectorist in British North West. Preliminary investigations suggest the monument was in use for 1500 years, beginning in the Late Neolithic period and ending around the Middle to Late Bronze Age. Examinations of the barrow also suggest a burial within it.
A a Bronze Age knife and a chisel were found at the site by the detectorist. Both artefacts are rare for the area. Excavations and public presentation of the fieldwork and the finds are scheduled.
