Several dozens of bronze objects dated to 10th century BC were found by Policemen near Janowiec Wielkopolski. The officers were on their duty, checking information about men with metal detectors in the fields in the vicinity of the town. As such actions are illegal they were searching the area where such activities were reported. They found a treasure hoard filled with numerous small and large bronze objects.
Among the artefacts archaeologists from Institute of Prehistory of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań to whom the find was forwarded to identified objects presumably belonging to a woman such as necklaces, hair pins, bracelets and also spearheads, axes and parts of a horse harness.
Found objects are currently under conservation. The hoards is said to be put on display in the Archaeological Museum in Biskupin.
