Archaeologists working at a construction site in Gdańsk (North Poland) unearthed nearly 30 metres of wooden water supply pipes. The find, made of pine wood with iron rivets and lead nipples is dated to 19th century. The pipe system was discovered 3 metres below the ground.
The place where the discovery was made will become a construction site of a shopping centre by the Targ Sienny square. Now, the municipal company plans to use the discovered portions of the waterworks as part of a tourist route.
