Excavations at the Acemhöyük site, a Bronze Age Assyrian trade colony located near modern Yeşilova in Aksaray province of Turkey, revealed a terracota rattle dating back to 2200 BC. The rattle is said to be one of the most interesting artefacts found at the site this season.

The round rattle is sealed, possibly containing small rocks or pebble stones inside that produce the noise through shaking. The rattle might have had a handle. It was discovered in a layer dated to 2200 BC, during the Early Bronze Age.  Remains from that time include also a city wall discovered at the site. Among other finds made this year are a piece of necklace made out of bones, metal needles, and cups, all found in layers dated to various periods.
