The shipwreck was discovered last month by the workers of the Słowiński National Park by the Baltic shore. The wooden hull of the ship, protruding from under a dune, was revealed by recent storms. The find was examined by archaeologists from National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk. They managed to document the protruding part of the boat. The construction technique and types of materials used, including nails and bolts identify it as remains of possibly a fishing boat form the end of the 19th or beginning of 20th century. The boat may be put on display in near future in the local museum scheduled for opening in 2018.
