The ancient Etruscan necropolis at Vulci, near Viterbo, Italy, revealed a tomb containing cremated remains of a woman.

The excavations were conducted in the area where illegal looters previously led to the discovery of the famous Tomb of the Golden Scarab containing the remains of an Etruscan princess buried around 700 BC. The woman buried in that tomb was outfitted with bronze, silver, gold and amber jewellery.

The newly discovered tomb was sealed with a slab of white limestone and contained an intact funerary urn with the ashes of a woman. The burial contained also a disk, called fuserola, with a hole in the middle needed for spinning fabric, and a set of 12 vases, five bronze crescent-shaped fibulae. One of the ceramic vessels contained painted geometric decorative motif in the red-on-white style.
