Farmer unearths a 1500 jar in north-western Turkey

A 1500-year-old jar was discovered by a farmer, working with a tractor in his field in the area of Karacabey, Bursa province, north-western Turkey.

The man notified the archaeological authorities. Experts from the Bursa Archaeological Museum conducted excavations, extracting the find. The jar, measuring 1.5 metres in height is believed to have been created during the end of the Roman period nearly 1500 years ago.
