Turkish police officers in Aksaray region, central Turkey, confiscated a specimen of a Bible, believed to have been written in 11th century from two men who were trying to sell the object.
The book was examined by experts who stated that it was adorned with figures of Jesus Christ and crosses. The book was written on gazelle skin and is partially damaged with only 20 pages surviving to this day. The two suspects, men of undisclosed identity being 42 and 53 year old, were arrested by the police after a tip-off as they were en route to meet the potential buyers. It is yet not known how they came in possession of the 10-centuries-old book.
