The structure was discovered by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality personnel and a team of experts were invited in order to solve the cave’s mystery. The exploration so far revealed that the cave has a length of 40 metres and a width of 1.5 metres. The ground made out of stones but the back was blocked due to natural calcification. The experts presume that the tunnel was man-made in ancient times and reached up to the Taşbaşı Church so that the people may reach the seaside area directly from their homes.
