Researchers of the Yogi Vemana University recently found this rare rock art, which may shed more light on the areas archaeological past. The paintings are made with white pigment and are located on the walls of a rock boulder perched on a hillock. One of the paintings depicts a female warrior holding a lance in both the hands, wearing head gear and shoes. She also is holding a long sword and a dagger on either side of her waist. To her right a standing horse is drawn. Nearby a parrot and elephant and a floral design were also noticed, while some paintings got eroded due to long exposure to sun and rain. The paintings are dated to the megalithic period, around 500 BC and the paintings on the hillock to early historic period, prior to 10th century AD.
