Archaeologists of the Brython Archaeology, working at the quarry discovered a Bronze Age cemetery. In two of the unearthed graves, created from pits lined with stone slabs, they have found two beakers. The vessels are said to be around 2000 years old, dated to the end of the Neolithic Age and the start of the Bronze Age. The larger pot was completely intact and the smaller one, although damaged has been reconstructed. The team also discovered pits containing charcoal and pottery which are also believed to date back to the Bronze Age. According to the experts the beakers are some of the earliest examples ever found in this part of North Wales.
