Ancient temple found in a cave

Students from Mumbai discovered ancient structures, possibly forming a temple, within caves in Sion and Chunabhatti, Mumbai, India. The caves seem to have been occupied during Medieval times.

The team found the cave after a task was given to them by an archaeologists to explore the area and unearth any found ancient idols or structures. The survey resulted in discovery of a few structures that point to the existence of caves from early medieval times in the Chafe Galli area of Chunabhatti. So far, of the two fragments found, one was found below the Gavdevi Shitala Devi temple in Sion and another was found behind a wall in Chafe Galli. The researchers plan now to finish a full-scale archaeological exploration to discovered caves.
