Tunisian officers arrested a man involved in illegal trade of ancient artefacts and fake ones at a flea market in Sbeitla, north-central Tunisia.
The arrest was made by the Research and Investigation Units of the National Guard of Kasserine. According to the authorities about 80% of the seized items are authentic, the rest are false. Among the finds are 20 stone objects and as many metal artefacts and about 1000 ancient coins. The shop owner was arrested over antiquities trafficking charges and an investigation was started on the origin of the artefacts.
