Excavations reveal evidence for executions on a hill

Archaeological investigation at Malling Hill near Lewes, South England, revealed evidence for performing executions at the site in the Saxon period.

Recent excavations are said to have been conducted after a discovery of a piece of human bone found in a rabbit burrow. Archaeologists found a mass grave, containing the skeletons of a group of men executed in the Saxon period, who may have been captured by Viking raiders.
