Unexploded ordnance from World War II found at a scrapyard

Workers segregating metal at a scrapyard in Pleszew, West-Central Poland, discovered 80 kilograms of various unexploded ordnance dating to World War II.

The find includes mortar grenades, artillery shells, ammunition and fuses. The find is said to weight about 80 kg. Police and sappers have secured the find and the area and are now working on determining how the unexploded ordnance got there in the first place. The finds are said to date to World War II and were probably left by somebody gathering them illegally or were stashed after the war and only recently found.
