Accidental discovery of a WWII air bomb

A passer-by discovered what looked like a piece of World War II unexploded ordnance, near the Świsłocz river, in the area of Krynki, East Poland, just 100 metres from the Polish-Belarusian border.

The bomb found in the river (by Straż Graniczna)

Officers of the Polish Border Guard came to the place of the find and inspected the item. They notified the Police from Sokółka, who in turn called in a sapper patrol from Białystok. It turned out that the unexploded ordnance was an air bomb from World War II. The object was removed and transported to a secure location for controlled detonation.
