After the workers started to unearth ancient artefacts, archaeologists were called at the site, resulting in the discovery of artefacts as old as the Hagia Sophia basilica. The researchers found walls and rooms of what is thought to be the ancient church. Among the finds is a pillar with unique patterns. The excavations resulted in closing the road at the site where the artefacts were found.
