Rare Ottoman books seized by Police during raid

Police conducting a raid in the the Keşan district of Edirne province, West Turkey, recovered books from the Ottoman period, including a Quran.

According to the experts the books might be worth over 25000 Euro. The house was raided after authorities were informed that a suspect was looking for buyers for historical books stored at his place. The seized artefacts include a fragmented Quran and torn leather-bound books written in the Arabic script dated to the Ottoman era.
