Ancient buildings discovered in Alexandria

Team of Greek archaeologists conducting excavations at the Shalallat Gardens area in Alexandria, Egypt, discovered remains of ancient buildings and a bridge.

The researchers discovered a long carved tunnel  at a depth of 10 meters and a large public building from the Ptolemaic period. The site is located at the Royal Quarters of the Ptolemaic rulers. Within them artefacts and architectural remains were discovered, indicating that these rooms were designed for wealthy individuals. Parts of wall frescoes depicting individuals pictured in a detailed way were discovered among the architectural remains.
