According to Viktor Lebedinsky, who led the expedition, the finds including two anchors, as well as lead plates and a cauldron, date back to the Roman period. It is believed that the ship had probably washed ashore almost 2000 years ago and ruined by waves. The items could be put on public display once research work on them is completed. Since 2014 Crimea is annexed as part of the Russian Federation as the Republic of Crimea.
