Sappers from Bolesławiec were called to handle two Soviet anti-tank mines, a hand grenade in a sewer, and a mortar grenade found in a tree – all in one day.

The mortar grenade hanging in the tree was found in Pstrąże. It was a German shell dating back to World War 2, preserved in good condition. It was probably discovered by someone who left it in that place. There was a real risk of the grenade exploding if fallen from the tree. Nearby, two anti-tank mines were discovered by a forester. They dated back to the times when Soviet Army stationed in the area.

Meanwhile in Świętoszów workers cleaning sewage installations discovered a hand grenade in a sewage well. The unexploded ordnance was identified as an anti-personnel Soviet F1 hand grenade. It was extracted from the well once the water was pumped out. All the unexploded ordnance was taken by the sappers and detonated.
