New finds at Etruscan cemetery at Vulci

Archaeologists discovered a well equipped Etruscan tomb at the famous necropolis at Vulci, Viterbo, Italy. Due to the nature of the finds, the discovery was dubbed “the tomb of the make-up artist“.

Iron Age salt production installation unearthed in south-eastern Poland

Archaeologists uncovered 3000-2500-year-old installations used to produce salt out of salt spring water near Tyrawa Solna, south-eastern Poland. This Prehistoric salt production site was known for 30 years but this year archaeologists conducted first excavations.

Annual season of aerial prospection in South Poland brought excellent results this year. Archaeologists conducting the flights and prospection over the Nida river basin detected numerous archaeological sites and other features, indicating presence of relics of man-made structures.
