A villager rebuilding his house discovered an ancient treasure of 5.6 tonnes of coins in Chacun, Jingdezhen city, Jiangxi Province, East China.

A joint team of Chinese, American and Kenyan archaeologists unearthed three human skeletons at an archaeological site of Manda Island in Lamu county, Kenya. The individuals are believed to have been Medieval Chinese travellers.

Archaeologists discovered a cemetery filled with boat coffin burials near the Feihu village, southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The burials are believed to date 2200 years to the past.

Eight rock carvings from the period of the Tibetan Empire (618-842 AD) were found in the Tibet autonomous region’s Markham county. They were found during a scheduled survey by Chinese researchers.

An ancient statue of Buddha emerged from the waters of the Hongmen Reservoir, in the city of Fuzhou, Nancheng County, East China. The statue dates to the period of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

The underwater shipwreck of Zhiyuan (or “Chih Yuan”) that sunk with 245 people on board 120 years ago is under archaeological excavation. The wreck is located off Dandong in northeast China’s Liaoning province.

Archaeologists started excavations at Bairencheng, an ancient city dating back 2500 years, located in Xingtai, Hebei province, north-eastern China.

Archaeologists uncovered 25 tombs in  at Longjingshan and Zongzaigang, Guangzhou of Guangdong province, south-eastern China. The burial area contains tombs dated between periods of Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BC) and Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD).

Archaeologists excavated the Jiren Taigoukou Ruins in Qialege’e village located in Ili Valley of  north-western China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, revealed a Bronze Age settlement dating back 3500 years.
