Turkish Police has seized around 1981 historical artefacts dating back to the Roman and Byzantine periods were seized during an anti-smuggling operation in Istanbul’s Çekmeköy district.

Police officers have seized around 800 illegally obtained artefacts during a raid at a private flat in Wągrowiec, North-West Poland.

Police officers from Miastko and Szczecin, Poland, were able to recover over 200 archaeological artefacts dating back to Early Iron Age which are said to have been illegally unearthed in Miastko earlier this year. The artefacts consist of vessels and jewellery attributed to the people of Lusatian culture.

Police officers detained an individual after seizing numerous Medieval artefacts that he tried to sell at online auctions, The artefacts were obtained illegally through use of a metal detector at an unregistered archaeological site in Grunwald, Poznań, Western Poland.

Egyptian antiquities authorities discovered an ancient carved block in a hole in the floor of a an old two-story, mud-brick house  during inspection in the Beni Mansour area of Abydos, in Upper Egypt. The block is engraved with the cartouche of the 30th Dynasty King Nectanebo II (360-342 BC).

Police officers in Turkey seized ancient jewellery from individuals conducting illegal excavations in Western Muğla province.

Four treasure hunters and over 350 plaster bars covered in gold paint were found in a cave in the southern province of Antalya, Turkey. 

Three suspects were caught in the act by The Israel Antiquities Authority while robbing graves, disturbing interred remains near Roman Era site in Galilee.
