Researchers have unearthed the gate leading to the fortified settlement at Zyndram’s Hill in Maszkowice. The site, dating back to the 2nd millennium BC is considered the oldest site with monumental stone fortifications in the area of Poland, discovered so far.
A monumental house with a stone foundation containing bronze artefacts and an object made of amber was discovered at Maszkowice, southern Poland. The house, belonging to a larger settlement, dates back 4000 years.
Archaeological excavations at the Zyndram’s Mountain near Maszkowice in Southern Poland revealed remains of the possibly oldest stone fortifications known in the country, dated back to the 16th-15th century BC.
