Mosaic workshop destroyed by earthquake unearthed

Excavations in the area of the Northwest Quarter of the ancient city of Jerash, Jordan, have unearthed a workshop used for mosaic construction. The building is believed to have collapsed during an earthquake in 749, turning the workshop into a time capsule.

1700-years-old mosaic found in Turkey

An impressive mosaic was found near Simav, Kütahya province, West Turkey, in an area destroyed by fire in 2005. The mosaic, depicting various animals, is said to date back to 2th-3rd century AD, to the Roman Period.
