Archaeologists found evidence for industrial activities such as metalwork, glasswork and pottery in Tom Maroon, in Iran’s area of Persian Gulf. The site dates back from ancient Bronze Age up to the historic and Islamic periods.
Remains of 2000-year-old fountains, a pool, and irrigation channels used for maintaining gardens in ancient Petra, south-western Jordan, were discovered by archaeologists.
Relics of ancient fortifications and monumental tombs were found among numerous sites by a group of archaeologists from the Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw. The fieldwork in a the project, coordinated by prof. Piotr Bieliński, was led by dr Łukasz Rutkowski.
