Archaeologists discovered Early Medieval tombstones with Armenian script at the excavation site of Aghdzk village, Aragotsotn province, Armenia.
According to archaeologists these are the first Medieval tombstones discovered at the site. The tombstones are currently being deciphered. The researchers hope to discover more artefacts at the site, dating to the same period. Previous excavations in Aghadzk uncovered a tomb with remains of Arshakuni Kings, dating back to middle 4th century AD. The Arshakuni dynasty (also known as Arsacid dynasty), ruled the Kingdom of Armenia from 54 to 428 AD.
