Archaeologists discovered remains of an ancient rural settlement dating back to 6000 BC at Talle Kamin, Fars province, Iran.

The assessment of the site was made during first season of excavations. According to the international team of German and Iranian archaeologists the site can be dated from 6th millennium BC to beginning of the 1st millennium BC and the Achaemenid period. No evidence for occupation has been found after the Achaemenid era until the Islamic period. Archaeologists were also able to determine the boundary of the site after conducting test trenches around the hill on which it is located. This was needed to set an area of protection from gradual destruction due to farming activities.
