Celtic vessels found under iconic Romanesque rotunda
Archaeologists discovered remains of Celtic pottery vessels during excavations underneath the 11th-century Romanesque rotunda of St Nicolas in Cieszyn, South Poland.
Trove of Mayan jade and serpentine stones discovered
A trove of polished jade and serpentine artefacts were discovered in Ceibal, Guatemala, deposited in a singe cache. The ceremonial artefacts are dated to between 1000-450 BC, an early period of the Mayan culture.
Possibly oldest glass workshop from Poland revealed
Excavations at Grojec hill in Żywiec, southern Poland, revealed numerous glass artefacts and half-products that indicate a glass workshop operated there 2000 years ago. This might be the possible oldest glass production site in Poland.
