A rock with a round hole about 1 metre in diameter might have served as a calendar marking the beginning of winter to people living in Sicily 5000 years ago.
Previously unknown archaeological features were discovered in the remote area of Le Pianelle in the Tappino Valley in the Apennines, region of Molise, Italy. The discovery was made through aerial photographs made by drones.
Archaeologists focus attention on the mysterious site in Peru that consists of numerous, dense pattern of holes in the ground following a linear outline. The site, known as Band of Holes, is located in the Pisco Valley in Southern Peru.
