A concrete shelter dating back to 1939 located in Wąsosz was moved 34 metres in order to make way for the newly constructed S5 road.

First season of a three-year project of archaeological investigation of the Westerplatte area revealed numerous artefacts from the early days of World War II. The site is the place of the Battle of Westerplatte, the first battle in the invasion of Poland and marked the start of the Second World War in Europe.

The time capsule left by the Nazis in 1934 that was dug up two weeks ago in Złocieniec, Northern Poland, was finally opened. It revealed numerous items left by the Nazi Party members for the future generations.
