The undersea explorer who found the wreckage of the Whydah Gally, the first authenticated pirate shipwreck in North America, claims he located where the legendary treasure of the ship’s captain, Samuel “Black Sam” Bellamy, lies. The said area is located in the waters surrounding Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA.
A hidden deposit made by Germans living in Lubomierz, south-western Poland, during World War II was discovered after the relatives of the people that have hidden the objects came to seek them. The Germans asking for shovels brought the attention of the Polish Police which notified the heritage officials.
A metal detectorist discovered a hoard of silver coins on a farm outside Rønne, Bornholm. The treasure is dated to the Viking age.
Excavations on a sports area in Skoki, Wielkopolska voivodeship in Poland, resulted in finding a treasure of 117 silver coins, dated to 15th and 16th century AD. The initial discovery of first few coins was made in December last year by an archaeologists from the local Regional Museum in Wągrowiec, Marcin Krzepkowski together with Michał Kołpowski.
