5000-years-old rock art found in Egypt

Rock art dating back 5000 years was found on the ceiling of a small cavity in the Egyptian Sahara desert, between the Nile valley and the Gilf Kebir Plateau. It is believed it depicts a star in the east, a newborn between parents and two animals.

Hominid footprints uncovered in Tanzania

Archaeologists suppose that the impression were made most likely by Australopithecus afarensis when a group walked together across wet volcanic ash. The discovery was made close to where similar tracks were found in the 1970s in Laetoli, Tanzania.
