A mechanical digger operating at a beach between Dziwnów and Dziwnówek, North-West Poland, has hit some unexploded ordnance. It exploded lifting the digger in the air.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident. A sapper patrol was called to the site. The area was secured and surveyed for any further remaining explosive objects. The experts believe that the digger might have hit a grenade or a mortar shell. It was probably a remnant of the front that was set near Dziwnów in 1945, in the end phase of World War 2.
